Top level principles for business-relevant biodiversity assessment

Biodiversity is a concept that encompasses all the complexity inherent in nature. The sustainability of diverse businesses that depend on natural capital can be enhanced by properly understanding these intricate interactions within nature. However, in practice, it is not easy to answer the questions of how to simplify such complexity without losing its essence, and how to make decisions under limited information—that is, how to extract intelligence from complexity.
